1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small files or pieces of information stored on your browser or device when you visit a website.

Cookies can help websites recognize your browser or device, maintain a secure session, remember preferences, understand how services are being used, and provide certain functionality.

Cookies may be:

Session cookies, which generally expire when you close your browser; or
Persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a specified period or until you delete them.

Cookies may also be:

First-party cookies, placed by Kibruzo; or
Third-party cookies, placed by another service or technology provider.

2. Similar Technologies

When we refer to “cookies” in this Policy, we also include similar technologies that may store information on, or retrieve information from, your browser or device.

These may include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, SDKs, device identifiers, and similar technologies.

3. How Kibruzo Uses Cookies

Kibruzo may use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These technologies are required for the Services to function properly.

They may be used for purposes such as:

Signing you into your account;
Maintaining authenticated sessions;
Account and application security;
Fraud and abuse prevention;
Processing user requests;
Remembering privacy and cookie choices;
Maintaining application functionality;
Load balancing and service reliability; and
Protecting Kibruzo, its users, and the Services.

Because these technologies are necessary to provide the Services, they generally cannot be disabled through Kibruzo’s cookie controls.

Disabling them through your browser may prevent portions of Kibruzo from working correctly.

Functional and Preference Cookies

These technologies allow Kibruzo to remember choices you make and provide enhanced functionality.

Examples may include remembering interface preferences, settings, or other choices associated with your use of the Services.

Where required by applicable law, Kibruzo will obtain consent before using non-essential functional technologies.

Analytics and Performance Cookies

Kibruzo may use analytics and performance technologies to understand how the Services are used and to improve performance, reliability, usability, and functionality.

Information collected may include information such as:

Pages or screens viewed;
Features used;
Navigation and interaction information;
General device and browser information;
Referring pages;
Approximate geographic information derived from an IP address;
Application errors; and
Performance information.

Where required by applicable law, analytics technologies will not be activated until you provide the required consent.

Advertising and Marketing Cookies

Kibruzo may use advertising or marketing technologies if such services are enabled on the Services.

These technologies may be used to measure marketing effectiveness, understand whether a visitor arrived through a marketing campaign, or support advertising activities.

Where consent or an opportunity to opt out is required by applicable law, Kibruzo will provide those controls.

The use of advertising or marketing technologies does not override any rights you may have under Kibruzo’s Privacy Policy or applicable privacy law.

Kibruzo does not currently use advertising pixels, ad-network tracking, or cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, this Policy and the required opt-out controls will be updated first.

4. Third-Party Technologies

Some functions available through Kibruzo may rely on third-party service providers.

Depending on the features you use, third parties may provide services relating to areas such as:

Authentication;
Payment processing;
Fraud prevention;
Maps or location services;
Analytics;
Customer support;
Embedded content;
Communications; or
Infrastructure and application performance.

A third party may use its own cookies or similar technologies when you interact with a feature provided by that party.

Third-party technologies are governed by the applicable third party’s privacy practices in addition to any contractual restrictions Kibruzo places on its service providers.

The cookies and technologies currently used through the Services, including their provider, purpose, category, and duration where applicable, may be identified through Kibruzo’s Cookie Settings or cookie preference interface.

5. Cookie Consent and Your Choices

Where applicable law requires consent before a non-essential cookie or similar technology is used, Kibruzo will request that consent.

You may be provided options such as:

Accepting non-essential cookies;
Rejecting non-essential cookies; or
Selecting individual categories of cookies.

Strictly necessary technologies may continue to operate because they are required to provide the Services you request.

You can change your choices through Cookie Settings when that option is available on the Services.

Changing your preferences does not necessarily delete cookies that were previously stored on your device. You may need to delete existing cookies using your browser or device settings.

6. Browser Controls

Most browsers allow you to view, delete, or block cookies through browser settings.

You may also be able to configure your browser to:

Block all cookies;
Block third-party cookies;
Delete cookies when the browser closes; or
Notify you when a website attempts to place a cookie.

Blocking all cookies may interfere with important Kibruzo functions, including account authentication and other features requiring browser storage.

7. Privacy Preference Signals

Certain browsers and extensions allow users to send automated privacy preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control (“GPC”).

Where Kibruzo is legally required to recognize a qualifying privacy preference signal, Kibruzo will process that signal as required by applicable law.

Additional information about privacy rights and requests is available in our Privacy Policy.

8. Mobile and Installed Applications

Kibruzo may be available as a progressive web application (“PWA”) or through other application formats.

Applications may use technologies other than traditional browser cookies to maintain sessions, store preferences, provide requested functionality, protect accounts, or understand application performance.

Where applicable law treats those technologies similarly to cookies, the principles described in this Cookie Policy apply to them as well.

9. How Long Cookies Are Stored

Cookie retention periods vary depending on the purpose of the cookie.

Session cookies generally expire when a browser session ends.

Persistent cookies remain for a defined period unless deleted sooner.

Where available, the specific duration of individual cookies or technologies is identified through Kibruzo’s Cookie Settings or cookie preference interface.

We seek to retain cookie information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is used or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

10. Personal Information Collected Through Cookies

Some information collected through cookies or similar technologies may constitute personal information or personal data under applicable law.

Kibruzo’s collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of personal information is described more fully in our Privacy Policy.

If there is a conflict between this Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy regarding the processing of personal information, the Privacy Policy governs.

11. Changes to This Cookie Policy

Kibruzo may update this Cookie Policy as our Services, technologies, service providers, or legal obligations change.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this Policy.

If required by applicable law, we may also provide additional notice or request renewed consent when our use of cookies or similar technologies materially changes.

12. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Cookie Policy, cookies used by Kibruzo, or your privacy choices, please contact Kibruzo using the contact information provided in our Privacy Policy.
